2023 MLS Regular Season: CF Montreal 1-0 Inter Miami
The South Florida side sunk to last place in the Eastern Conference after suffering a third straight league defeat
Inter Miami’s sputtering season reached a new low on Saturday, with a former La Rosanegra attacker playing a pivotal part in handing the team its latest defeat.
Inter Miami sunk to last place in the Eastern Conference after suffering a 1-0 road loss to CF Montreal at Stade Saputo in Montreal, Canada. CF Montreal’s winner came in the 53rd minute when recently-traded winger Ariel Lassiter crossed a ball from the left to assist on Chinonso Offor’s slotted effort.
The result saw the South Florida side, now 5-0-9, drop a third straight league tussle. Fifteenth-placed Inter Miami has scored just 14 goals in those MLS matches.
Continuing a jam-packed stretch in this year’s schedule, the Herons next welcome the New York Red Bulls to Drv Pnk Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Wednesday.
