2023 MLS Regular Season: Chicago Fire 3-2 Inter Miami
The South Florida side wasted a comeback effort and suffered a third straight defeat after giving up a stoppage-time winner
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami clawed back from a two-goal deficit to be in a position to find a late winner on Saturday, but La Rosanegra gave one up instead.
Kei Kamara scored in the 92nd minute and that sunk Inter Miami to a third straight defeat, losing 3-2 to the Chicago Fire at Drv Pnk Stadium. Goals from Franco Negri and Nicolas Stefanelli had brought Inter Miami back on level terms after going down 2-0 in the first half, but the comeback effort was wasted after an unmarked Kamara delivered a bruising blow with a low finish at the back post.
The result marked Inter Miami’s first home loss of 2023. Phil Neville’s team is now 2-0-3 this season.
Inter Miami next visits FC Cincinnati in another Eastern Conference brawl on April 1.
