FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — David Ruiz just helped Inter Miami continue its winning ways, but he also provided the team with a late scare.
Ruiz was the protagonist for Inter Miami on Saturday night, as he both scored a goal and delivered an assist before getting sent off late in a 2-1 home win over the New England Revolution.
The teenage midfielder scored the first MLS goal of his career six minutes into the match at Drv Pnk Stadium and set up a Josef Martinez tally just before halftime, but was given a second yellow card in the 81st minute to leave the South Florida side with 10 men for the second straight MLS match.
Inter Miami held on to post a fourth straight victory across all competitions, improving to 5-0-6 on the year and jumping into fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
