2023 MLS Regular Season: Inter Miami 0-0 Nashville SC
Lionel Messi and the South Florida side dropped points at home after being held goal-less in a rematch of the Leagues Cup final
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami celebrated its Leagues Cup title prior to kickoff on Wednesday night, but for the first time since Lionel Messi arrived to the team there were no post-game festivities or goals.
Messi and Inter Miami’s push for the playoffs took a hit after the South Florida side dropped points at home at Drv Pnk Stadium via a 0-0 stalemate against a determined Nashville SC. The South Florida side was limited to just four shots on target in the scoreless draw, failing to find the back of the net for the first time in the 10 games across all competitions since Messi arrived.
The result moved Inter Miami to 22 points on the season, but left Tata Martino’s men stagnant in 14th place with a 6-4-14 record. Ten points currently separate Inter Miami from the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
La Rosanegra continues its jam-packed stretch of games on Sunday, visiting LAFC at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
