2023 MLS Regular Season: Orlando City 3-1 Inter Miami
A disjointed South Florida side suffered a third home loss on the season after falling to the arch-rival Lions in the latest edition of the Sunshine Clasico
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Losing at home is starting to become a habit for Inter Miami.
Inter Miami suffered its third home defeat of the season and eighth overall on Saturday night after enduring a frustrating 3-1 setback vs. arch-rivals Orlando City at Drv Pnk Stadium. Leonardo Campana temporarily equalized for Inter Miami in the latest edition of the Sunshine Clasico by scoring a stunning second-half goal from distance, but the Lions reclaimed the lead shortly thereafter via a clean Martin Ojeda finish and never looked back.
The disappointing letdown dropped the Herons to 5-0-8 on the year while also sliding them into 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
Inter Miami continues its busy May with a U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 showdown on Tuesday, hosting Nashville SC in a rematch of this past Wednesday’s league affair that ended in a 2-1 road defeat for La Rosanegra.
