Inter Miami 2-2 CF Montreal
Emerson Rodriguez came off the bench to deliver a 79th-minute equalizer for the South Florida side
Inter Miami just flew around 7,600 miles this week as part of a challenging two-game road trip, and the team is coming back home with a respectable haul after producing yet another late goal.
Emerson Rodriguez came off the bench and scored a 79th-minute equalizer to give Inter Miami a road point in a 2-2 draw with CF Montreal on Saturday night. Romell Quioto had scored a first-half brace to put the Canadian side ahead at Stade Saputo, but Rodriguez’s late leveler combined with Gonzalo Higuain’s eighth goal of the season left the Eastern Conference match in a stalemate.
The comeback result gave Inter Miami four points from this road swing following Wednesday’s 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, but dropped the South Florida side one spot in the standings in the east. The Herons are now in ninth place, though they are even on points with three other teams.
