Inter Miami 5-1 FC Cincinnati
An offensive explosion in the second half led by Gonzalo Higuain saw the South Florida side set a new franchise record for biggest win in team history
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami set the record for the biggest win in franchise history on Wednesday, and it only took three days for the team to outdo that.
Gonzalo Higuain delivered a masterclass of a second-half performance to lead Inter Miami in a 5-1 demolition of FC Cincinnati at Drv Pnk Stadium. Higuain scored the winner and delivered two delightful assists in the closing 45 minutes to break what was a 1-1 deadlock and leave the Herons five points shy of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Federico Higuain, Indiana Vassilev, Lewis Morgan, and Julian Carranza all joined in on the scoring fun to post the most lopsided victory in team history after previously doing so earlier in the week with a 3-0 triumph over Toronto FC.
The South Florida moved up into 10th place with 38 points ahead of the final three games of the season.
