Nashville SC 5-1 Inter Miami
The shorthanded South Florida side was routed at home for the second straight game
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A shorthanded Inter Miami side was aiming to bounce back from last week’s lopsided loss, but it fell short in yet another ugly defeat.
Inter Miami was beaten in a second consecutive home game on Wednesday night, routed, 5-1, by Nashville SC at Drv Pnk Stadium. Hany Mukhtar led the the way by bagging a brace for the visitors, who faced a South Florida side missing Leandro Gonzalez Pirez and Nicolas Figal due to suspensions.
The Herons’ lone tally came in the second half off a nice finish from Gonzalo Higuain after a nice 1-2 pass with Rodolfo Pizarro that made the score 3-1 at the time, but the team conceded twice more and to add insult to injury lost captain Gregore to a late ejection.
The defeat left Inter Miami on 32 points, three shy of the Philadelphia Union for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
