New York City FC 2-0 Inter Miami
The South Florida side was shut out for the eighth time this MLS season in its first-ever trip to Yankee Stadium
Inter Miami put up a valiant effort against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but familiar issues popped up once again to add to the South Florida side’s ongoing road woes.
Maximiliano Moralez and Heber scored on each side of halftime, and that was enough for New York City FC to blank Inter Miami, 2-0, at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night. The Herons fell behind after just 12 minutes in their latest slow start, but the continued inability to be effective on some decent chances led to the eighth shutout of the MLS season for Phil Neville’s men.
Inter Miami, which was without striker Leonardo Campana due to injury, dropped to 7-10-4 on the season with the loss. The result saw the team fall to 10th place in the east, three points shy of the final playoff spot.
