FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami squared off against a familiar face on Saturday evening, and that familiar face inflicted some pain on the South Florida side by sparking a preseason rout with a stunning golazo.

Former Inter Miami winger Indiana Vassilev scored a sensational free kick from distance to help pace expansion side St Louis City to a 4-0 pummeling of La Rosanegra in a rainy exhibition played at Florida Blue Training Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Vassilev struck in the 37th minute of the friendly that was comprised of four 30-minute periods, hitting a sizzling set piece from distance into the top right corner past a soaring Drake Callender. Vassilev chose not to celebrate the goal, raising his hand humbly as elated teammates circled around him.
